I have Windows 98 running on my PC, and I’d like to “clean out” some of the file types under “New > File” on the pop-up menu that appears when I right-click on the desktop.
Does anyone know how to remove these?
I think you can find some of them in C:\windows\shellnew.
Hmm…I don’t actually have any files or folders called “shellnew”.
Ahh…thanks mblackwell. A bit of searching on the web for “shellnew” pointed me in the right direction. Turns out (if anyone else has this problem) that every “new” file type has a ShellNew entry in the Registry.
