WinAmp Shoutcast TV

I’ve tried to connect to the channels listed under “Shoutcast TV” in WinAmp, and have never succeeded. It always displays “ICY 400 Server full”, no matter which channel I select. Does anyone watch these channels, is it possible to connect?

I just tried 4 at random, and connected to all of them.

If you are getting “Server full”, likely you have just been unlucky and picked streams already at capacity.

I just fiddled with Shoutcast TV for the first time the other night.

Most of the channels are “pay” channels that you have to subscribe to to be guaranteed a slot. Like the ones that show The Simpsons or Southpark. I think they have 10-25 “free” slots that you can get in on only if you’re lucky enough to find an open one. From what I’ve experienced they are usually full.

Some of the lower quality ones are free, but they also only have so many slots available for connection. Did you try ALL of them - even the Hungarian TV ones?

You might have a firewall problem, too. If you have a software firewall like Windows XP SP2 or ZoneAlarm, check those to see if there’s any notices about connecting to these streams. If you have a hardware firewall in a router or something, check it’s log to see if it’s blocking the streams.

Well, after trying them all, I found I could access some of them, but of course not the ones playing the popular stuff. I guess I’ve just been unlucky. I’l keep trying for the more popular stations.
