How long does a aerosol spray such as windex take to settle to the ground if someone sprays it in the air in the middle of a room?
Variables even I see that need accounting for: height of spray nozzle from floor, air currents.
Windex is aerosol? Anytime I’ve ever seen it it’s been in a spray bottle.
No air currents , 3 feet of the floor. How long , 30 seconds? 2 minutes?
Temperature and humidity of room?
Altitude? Air pressure? Pollen count?
Stream, spray or off nozzle mode?
All of it? 100%?
I don’t think all of it ever reaches the ground.
Some of the methanol is evaporating right away.
How tall are you? Fit or sedentary? Need to know you’re resting air intake, and your agitated air intake when the maid works in your bedroom.
Einstein’s other Nobel Prize was for explaining Brownian Motion. Some of the droplets will never reach the ground, but will remain suspended.
In practice, I just spritzed a Windex-type cleanser in the air, and it pretty much settles out in about fifteen seconds. After that, I can’t see or feel any droplets in the air.
Are the walls painted with hygroscopic or hydrophobic paint?
I could have won a Nobel for that post if I’d been born 150 years ago?
Kewl.
He should probably hold his breath when he does this, I mean, if he inhales any of it, it’ll be days before he sweats it out and it reaches the ground.
True. But what will he do if a family member or staff drops an SBD in the room with no warning or courtesy wink?
Spray some more Windex, it’ll probably cover the scent.
Are you on a treadmill?
Are you wearing protective apparel, drinking pasteurized milk or beer, and/or purified spring water filtered through a virgin’s pale blond hair? Is your body’s integrity in any doubted by authorities or compromised by familial intrusion?
Has the furniture been moved from the area? It is, after all, blocking part of the floor.
African or European Windex?
He doesn’t know.
