Windows 2003 SBS question

I got a call tonight from one of my customers describing a problem they are having with their network shares. According to the customer they have a 1gb space limitation on all new created shares on their Windows 2003 SBS domain. I figured I’d ask here and see if any Windows gurus know this one off the top of their head. I did a google search but am either wording it wrong or I’m just missing something. My first thought was that it’s something in Group Policy, but the customer says they have pretty much the default system…and I find it hard to believe that MicroSoft put in a 1gb space limitation as the default for new shares.

So, any ideas what’s going on here…and how to fix it that I can tell the customer in 20 words or less? Appreciate the helpage if anyone knows.

Disk quotas are turned on by default on SBS disk volumes. The default new user template used when a user is created is to set their quota to 1GB. To turn quotas off on a volume, go to the disk properties, Quota tab, and uncheck “Enable quota management”.

Excellent! Thanks muchly for the helpage there. I didn’t know that about SBS, but then it’s not a product I’ve done much with in the past.
