Windows 2k Exchange problem

I hope someone on this board knows the answer to this one. I’m not a systems guy (I’m a network engineer type), so I’m not really that familiar with MS Windows 2k OR Exchange 2k.

I’m attempting to re-install Exchange 2k on a new server (the customers old server went tits up last week), and I’m getting the following error message when I try and do either a Typical or Minimum install:

The component “Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services” cannot be assigned the Action “Install” Because:

-A server object for this server already exists in the Administrtive Group “First Administrative Group”. You must either remove this server object before installing, or run setup with the “DisasterRecovery” switch if you are attempting to recover this server.

Ok, a couple of questions I hope some of you MS dopers out there can answer. First, what the hell does this mean? I can’t find the “First Administrative Group” anywhere!! WHere the hell is it? Second, I don’t WANT to install the Collaboration Services stuff…its for integration with groupware type products (like Lotus Notes and such) as far as I know, and the customer doesn’t have any of that. But, if I select ‘Custom’ install (instead of Typical or Minimum) it ONLY installs the damn MS Exchange Service Manager…which is useless!! Finally, why do MS products have to be SUCH a god damn pain in the ass??? Jezus this shit is driving me nuts!!

Any and all help will be slavishly appreciated!!

Oh, and what is the DisasterRecovery switch syntax for running setup for Exchange 2k??
