Windows 7: Browser Favorites/Bookmarks, what file(s)?

allthegood’s venerable Dell Windows 7 box died.

Could be worse: an external backup had been set up and contains all the C drive’s files, and our housemate has donated a good working Acer Windows 7 box to the cause. So I’ve been moving all the “My Documents” and “My Music” and Desktop and etc stuff to her corresponding folder on the new computer. Among the other things moved was “Favorites”, which I thought was where Windows stored browser shortcuts. Maybe that’s only for IE? She’s a Chrome user, primarily.

Where be the file or files that constitute Google Chrome bookmarks / favorites?

Anything tricky about moving old ver to corresponding location? Chrome would just “see it there” and use it, yes?

That location is Internet Explorer only.

For Google chrome: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\bookmarks

Replace <username> with the user name that allthegood logged in with.

Found it.

AppData is a hidden folder, very sneaky.

Thanks!
