Windows 7 folder sharing question.

I can’t find anything on Google, but I’m hoping that this is possible.

I have a shared folder that instead of letting anyone access it, I want to be able to name specific computers on the local network that I want to have access to the folder. on both:
Sharing tab -> click Share -> Add
or
Security tab -> click Edit -> click Add

All I’m allowed to choose from are local accounts. Is there a way to change this, or a work-around? Thank you.

AFAIK, there’s no way to manage access control in Windows using a computer name, only users.

You can make a new account on the local machine that has access to the specific shared folder. Then, remote users will have to use the new account credentials to connect to that folder.
