Windows Registry question

When I boot my PC (Win98) it always asks me for my Windows password and my network password. I was wondering if I could get it to stop asking me for the windows password. I think I had this same problem a few years ago and a friend showed me how to fix it in the registry, but now I’ve forgotten how to do it. Can anybody run me through the steps? Thanks

This might work:

Run Sysedit, and remove all entries under the “Passwords” section of system.ini (I think it’s this one. check em all if it isn’t)

Next, find and delete all instances of .pwl files in your Windows directories.

Also, if you have TweakUi installed, run it and uncheck the box that is under the network section I think it is.
WHen you restart the system, it should ask you to log on, and say something about if how you enter no password, it won’t prompt you again.
Simply press Ok, and you are set.

Again, I don’t have it open in front of me, so you might have to search for the parts I told you about for a few seconds there…

I pretty sure you have to also set the primary Logon to Windows logon, but search here (for ‘windows password’)as some of the techs have answered this no less than 34,879 times.

If you have TweakUI installed just enter the password in the Network tab and it’ll automatically log you in every time Windoze starts.

I have answered this same question several times in the past. A search should have brought this up.
