Q.E.D. - You don’t need to download the full install of SP1. You can download SP1a and then install the MS JVM from the link you provided above. Be sure to select the MS JVM from the “Select Program Access and Defaults” applet to get it work work properly.
It should work now though, without doing a reinstall, shouldn’t it? AFAIK, I should only have to uninstall the Sun Java and install the MS VM, but yet, that doesn’t work.
Well aware, thanks. Try to take it easy there. I understand what opinion is and I know it sneaks into GQ now and then. I was simply asking for what led to that opinion. My experience with the MS VM has been exactly opposite and since I distribute a number of Java apps and I’m frequently in the position of helping others get them running, I try to keep on top of what works best. You comments about Yahoo games etc. are helpful because it gives me something to test.
