Windows XP problem

Okay, so I come into work this morning, turn on my computer and get a strange error:

Windows is unable to open your profile, it may be corrupt. Contact your Administrator. Press OK to continue.

Windows will now open a temporary profile for you to configure Press OK to continue.
Now, I work in a small office and my boss is somewhat technically inclined as am I, but not with windows xp

Does anyone have any idea why my profile would just up and disappear? Or better yet, how to fix it?

I’ve pretty much got all my stuff back, but all of the email in my Outlook etc are gone. BLEH!! What a morning!

Well if your profile is stored on another server, perhaps there was a network problem that prevented you from connecting to the server.

Did you try logging out and logging back in again later? Did it work?

The network server is another computer in the office. We rebooted it, rebooted this computer and tried again. Same deal.

We tried logging out and back in, same thing.

Everything seems to be gone. Even the contents of the hard drive on this computer

It is possible that your profile gets corrupted. Same deal with any NT derived OS. Does your company have any backups of important data?
