Winning a billion dollars? I'd have an entire room dedicated to ________ just because I could.

Excellent points! Really, any sort of secret lair, with a surreptitious access point, would do.

I should probably also arrange for a room full of hounds available for release.

I would have a very nice library. I love books.

That would be my first choice too. Big gaming tables (one for board games, one for RPGs with an overhead projector for maps) and super-comfy chairs, nice comfy couch with a big-screen 4K TV and several different game systems, kickass PC with giant monitor for playing WoW, shelves for all the board games and RPG books, pool table, a few old-style cabinet games…and all of it would be hidden behind a secret door just because.

Choice #2 would be a cat room, with sunroom extension, tons of cat trees and catwalks along the walls and ceiling, toys, amusements, places for them to get away from each other, warm comfy places to sleep…yeah. My cats would be very, very happy if I had $380 million.

The best home theater I can come up with.

We’re talking about the same type of projector used in AMC’s Dolby Cinema - super bright, incredible resolution, 10 bit color, Dolby Aeros surround sound with Genelec speakers and the connections to get first run movie digital files.

It wouldn’t be one of those fancy-dan theaters with gold leaf or anything. The walls would be black. This is all about image quality and the best possible cinema experience.

If I could have two, I’d enjoy Chronos’ Maker Space as well.

I’d get a model of each pistol James Bond has been issued over the years in the books and movies, and show them off in a display case. I think that would be rather neat. Add in memorabilia from other movies I like and have a nice movie room.

I couldn’t do just one room. I’d have the gun room, the car room, and (of course) the Steelers room, the latter being the one I’d go with if I could only have one. I’d walk right up to Dan Rooney, hand him a briefcase full of cash, and ask him to send a decorator and his equipment manager.

An honest-to-goodness old-fashioned stereo system. I’m not talking home theater. I’m saying two front speakers and maybe one or two subs.

Having grown-up in the age of Bose 901s, Klipschorns, Infinity Walsh Tweeters, and AR3as, I find myself constant astonished by the current generation’s lack of interest in actual, full-room, high fidelity sound systems. Earbuds seems to make a lot of people happy. Can’t see it myself.

Oh, yeah…don’t forget Advents. I currently run Maggies, but that’s just personal preference.

Dammit, beat me to it. I’d build a stereo room. A super comfortable couch, and an audiophile system that ,well… “It’s a big stereo. Speakers so loud, they blow women’s clothes off!”

Maybe some Macintosh monoblocks driving some Glass 8 speakers, or a custom home theater starting with K-Horns as the surround speakers; or maybe I’ll just get a set totally built from scratch…

I’d build a giant room for my horse and her friends and my friends and their horses. Yes, that would be called a stable…

When I was younger I wanted a Family/Friend Party Room.

You can enter the party room for either inside the house or from the outside, and outside would have a large parking area, because I had a really big extended family.

It would have a huge table that would seat 50, and everybody would have a comfortably padded chair. On the other side of the room would be seating areas and a fire place where everybody could mix and mingle in comfort. Behind that, the room would extend to form an L shape, would be a game room with a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, foosball and a big screen TV with about a dozen recliners in front of it. Add in a fridge stocked with cold drinks and a well stocked bar. There would be sliding portable walls between the rooms to either cut down on the noise or open everything up.
Also a few powder rooms.

The outside walls that form the inside bend of the L would be all windows and sliding glass doors that looked out to the patio and built in pool. The patio would be partially covered for those who prefer the shade. The pool would be covered with something like a greenhouse so we could swim year round. It could be open in the warm months and closed when it’s cold. I’d have a nice grilling area, some changing areas, and a big supply of towels.

Off the patio would be a path leading down to a sandy beach and a pier with a few jet skies, a rowboat, some kayaks and paddle boats… and other fun stuff.

With that kind of money I could afford to host a lot of get-togethers.

Now that I’m older, and most of the family has passed on or spread out, it doesn’t sound like so much fun anymore.

China, Chrystal and art glass. If I had my way I would use different dishes every month of the year, and different holidays too. I love shopping second hand and finding place settings of interesting or classic china and compiling them into services for 6 or 8. Also picking real crystal from regular glassware. (Value Village and Salvation Army are pretty good now at sorting out the “good stuff” but in the little local thrift shops I can still occasionally find an Ittala Utlima Thule bowl or goblet mixed in with the gas station give-aways.

Of I had space I would have beautiful lighted cabinets displaying all my finds.
