Wireless headphones

Are there any good wireless headphones out there? I have a pair of Sennheiser HDR 110s that are okay sound-wise, but tend to hiss and crackle if I turn my head in the wrong direction. I’ve tried adjusting the frequency and moving the antenna around the room (and in different rooms), but unless I’m fairly still I get all the static fun of a crappy FM radio.

They don’t necessarily need to sound great when playing music (though of course it would be good if they did). My main interest is that they don’t make any noise other than what’s being pushed out of the headphone jack.

I don’t have a price range. Okay, maybe I do. Up to $50 or so if they sound decent, up to $100 if they sound very good, $150 if they sound great. Thoughts?

I have these, RCA WHP141B 900MHZ Wireless Stereo Headphones. They have mixed reviews, but I love them. Then again, I use a hearing aid so I do not count as an audiophile.

I’ve been using mine a year. The batteries (2 AA) recharge easily. I can walk all through my house, outside, maybe 20 yards from the house before I signal is lost.

How are they static and otherwise? Not static per se, just the occasional phhhsssshh and wwssssssss that creep in during quiet passages and between songs. I’ll easily trade fidelity if they only noise is coming from the sound files not via the antenna (or whatever is causing it).

Oh, something else I just thought of to ask. How do they turn on? The Sennheiser’s base has to have some incoming signal to start transmitting. If it doesn’t receive anything for a minute or so it stops transmitting and the headphones give off horrid white noise. Which is odd because it’s the headphones that run on batteries, not the base station. Anyway, it can be jolting if I’ve muted something for too long and a PITA when I want to turn them on but have to start something playing first then turn on the headphone unit.

I use mine with my iPod, mostly for podcasts. When a podcast finishes there might be some “white noise”. if I unplug the iPod while the headphones are on, there is louder noise. But the headphones have an on/off switch that I usually hit before the noise happens. No sound before the podcast/music begins.

The other negative is that they are one-size-fits-all. No way to adjust, but they fit my melon just fine.
