Wireless Internet and security: musings...

With the increasing prevalence of wireless Internet, both WiFi and 3/4G, I wonder who’s thinking about security. Of course, I’m writing this post with free WiFi at the airport, but at least people who’re flying somewhere are less likely to be hanging around grabbing passwords from the “stream.” At, say, a coffee shop or at home, that possibility increases.

So with the number and convenience of public wireless networks going up, will/have security breaches go(ne) up? What sort of simmering tech might make things safer, even for those who don’t have the mind or technical know-how to make themselves more secure using these things?
