why is it that we always see a black cat creeping around a witch? Where did all this originate from, and why?

However, it seems kind of incomplete. is it just me or does anyone else feel a strange presence with cats? i can always feel my cat walking around the house and even when i am driving around cats seem to have a special kind of awareness. its like there is something more to them…
