I disagree. I thought there were several really nice turns of phrase. I loved the ending:

"Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations. "

I was in tears.

. Not really sure where he was going with that. Maybe I expected too much. I didn’t vote for him but was impressed with his stump speeches. I think if he had let his speechwriters make the speech it would have been a JFK moment to remember.
