i just think its funny to say a few times when im tripping… yay acid!!!

While it probably isn’t the source of the word, some materials make a “wob, wob, wob” sound if you wobble them back and forth. One example is the blade of a hand saw.

According to the Dictionary of Word Origins, it is from the same root sorce as wave and waver. Its from a prhistoric Germanic base wab- meaning to move to and fro.
