and if you’d died at the towers in 9/11, your wife and child would have recieved big bucks. and if you’d died after being hit by a drunken Bill Gates, they’d have received big bucks. and if you’d died after being hit by a drunken Bill Smith, they’d have received little bucks.
and they’d receive less than what the Louvre would receive if the Mona Lisa was stolen - what about that?? a mere piece of canvas with some paint on it, not even living tissue! and old, too! really old, probably cracked paint and all. why some one might get more $$ for that.
people all over value things differently, all the damn time. If you get your panties in a twist, trying to compare things like that to your personal worth, you’ll blow a gasket on a regular basis.
That sums up my feelings too. On the third of last month I lost a coworker I’d known two years and was friendly with. On the tenth I lost a cat that had been a pet for fourteen years. I miss the cat slightly more than the coworker, but hey, I knew him seven times as long as I knew her. As much as I miss the cat, it’s nothing compared to how I would feel had I lost my brother when he was fourteen. Mochie was a good cat, but even he doesn’t compare to the loss of a family member. I wish I could have both cat and coworker back, though
Sweet merciful fuck. I’m gone for eight hours and this thread jumps to five pages!?! You people know that there is no comma in the motto right? It’s not “Fighting, Ignorance since 1973.” I mean, what in the holy hell is wrong with everyone?
$45,000 is too much for a cat, making a statement and negligence be damned. They should have euthanised this dog and let that be the end of it.
Now, this thread has been godwinized (like we needed hitler mentioned in a pet thread). People have made mildly threatening remarks. Nearly everyone involved in this thread has been insulted. Can’t we take a fucking break already?
tdn–I’m with you. Thanks for the clarification and I am also done with this train wreck.
snakescatlady -pax. I agree that there are too many ill behaved children in the world, mostly due to a complete lack of parenting. Now I understand the smelly remark, thanks.
No, but I damn sure came up out of the bed ( I usually took the babies back to bed with me for feeding - it was warmer) when that kitten missed the bottle and chomped on my nipple!
If you don’t want to discuss it, don’t read the thread, and certainly don’t post. If you don’t want to consider the matter beyond the first gut reaction you had, then don’t read the thread, and certainly don’t post. If you are unable to examine your own opinions are are offended by the thought of others doing so, then don’t read the thread, and certainly don’t post.
Seriously, did you think your post was some sort of contribution to the thread?
