Woman says she was kicked out of water park because of her bathing suit

What I think happened, in order of decreasing likelihood:
1: She was asked to leave for some legitimate reason completely unrelated to her appearance or attire, and is spinning it this way to get attention.
2: The water park managers didn’t do anything against her, and she’s making the whole thing up to get attention.
3: Someone not officially affiliated with the water park (such as other patrons) said something to her, and she’s blowing it up to encompass the water park as a whole.
4: The water park management did ask her to leave or cover up due to her appearance or attire, but what she was wearing and/or showing is not the same as she’s wearing and showing in the news article.
5: The situation really is as she claims, and the water park really did ask her to cover up because of the appearance or attire shown in the news pics.

Now, I’m not saying that #5 is impossible, but I know how I’d bet.

She looks fine, I don’t see the issue.

I kind of thought that as well at first, but given news’ proclivity for going out of their way to titillate viewers these days, I can’t imagine if it had been a thong or tiny bottom they wouldn’t have shown it (perhaps fuzzed out even to make it appear more controversial than it really was).

But that wouldn’t have been sympathetic to her story. If they showed something that most people would agree was inappropriate around kids, she loses. If they had to fuzz it out, obviously it was probably inappropriate for a family venue.

I suppose 2 and 3 are possible, but you’d have to assume that everyone up to and including ABC News didn’t bother to check whether the police had actually been called to remove her. If they don’t have confirmation of that, at least, then all they have is Madelyn Sheaffer’s word for any of this, including whether she’s ever been to a water park in her life.

(In response to other comments, the link has a rear view of the bikini she says she was wearing. Can’t see anything wrong with it. And she says that the park management said she was showing too much boob, too.)

In the video she seems to me to be clearly covering up her lower right with the towel, both in the pan up her body and later when she is walking.

Slow news day indeed. The news team bothered to drive all the way top the park to cover this important story and then let the ‘victim’ make up the story for them.

I agree with that, but on the other hand, while I wouldn’t choose a top that small for myself, it really isn’t any worse than what I see on any visit to a local pool.

I get the impression that for this woman, it is.

Oh, dear lord, I read that as “Tits the American way.”

Speaking of seeing pubic hair in a bathing suit - Smack The Pony, bathing suit sketch.

That is true. The media is certainly not fond of letting facts get in the way of a good story. I would have hoped that, if it had been a one-sided report, the water park would have released a statement indicating why they took the action they did (which, presumably would have become public by now).

According to ABC News (link in previous post), the water park has refused to comment.

I disagree with the comment that she was trying to show off her tits. She has big tits. There’s not a standard bikini around that gives adequate tit coverage for a woman of her bust size. Finding one-pieces that fit and don’t look like they were made for someone who is overweight in the lower extremity (and therefore bags like crazy) is even more difficult. I know this from my own experience.

Not having seen what the back of the suit looked like on her, I cannot comment on the adequacy of coverage, but I strongly suspect this is just ageism at its finest.

I’m snickering, thinking about what an uncomfortable conversation THAT would be for the average “it’s a summer job” teenage lifegaurd to have with a middle-aged patron.

Sure they do, she just chose not to buy one. There’s not even any way that the top she has is comfortable-- those super thin strings must be killing her neck.

Look at the ABC news link above, there is full front and back photos of the suit, and I don’t see anything at all wrong with it.

OK, finally got that link to work. From those photos, I’d say her attire was tasteless but not offensive.

I find it unlikely her swimsuit was much different than what others were wearing, but even in the ABC photos she continues to cover up her tattoos (this time with her hands). I’d bet good money they say something offensive.

Yep me too. In the ABC story she says they asked her to put shorts on. I don’t see anything wrong with that bathing suit bottom, it was plenty big. There had to be an offensive tattoo along the top of her bikini bottom.

I thought that too - or maybe scars from surgery?

Something seems odd.

She can come over and frolic in the privacy of my wherever she wants anytime! She’s a knockout and the younger girls were just jealous and catty, is my guess.

Frankly, if what she’s wearing isn’t illegal, I can’t for the life of me figure out how it’s inappropriate attire for, ya know, a fucking swimming pool.

It’s not scars- if she had scars she didn’t want exposed she wouldn’t have worn that suit to begin with.

Isn’t it self evident that in the video, she never drops the towel or turns round, the camera never gets to see what the problem really is. So obvious. Still photos, exactly the same thing, only a front on shot. It just seems extremely manipulative.

So my money is on that the bottom is really a thong. Puritan prigs at the pool complained, some teenaged employee made a bad call, and the local evening news, taking a lead from national networks, made a mountain out of a molehill for cheap ratings.

It’s hard not to cynically suspect the waterpark wanted some publicity, this woman wanted some props for weight loss/ hotness, and a reporter wanting airtime on a slow news day. I’m sure the whole town is talking about it, the park where it happened, and siding with the newly hot woman!
