The phenomena is huge on the net and getting bigger with the increase of Japanese anime to fuel the fics. Not that it is limited to anime, but I would avoid the majority of ‘crossovers’ (N’Sync and Next Generation crossover? Ewwwwwwww!)

It does seem like there are a lot of older (35 and up) really into slash/yaoi. In my case (37), I’ve always liked it, ever since I was in middle school and would make up stories about Starsky and Hutch falling in love. I also think that until recently it was not as “OK”, if you know what I mean. I mea lots of men are turned on by two girls, just as lots aren’t - why shouldn’t women be the same way?
