Women, did you fantasize about your wedding as a child?

Yes. I pored over my parents’ wedding album. I have great gobs of aunts and female cousins, so I went to many weddings and was a flower girl several times at an impressionable age, and a junior bridesmaid too.

Was 10 or so when Princess Di got married, and woke up early to watch the wedding.

I loved to be the center of attention and did my share of fairy princessing, though also lots of bike-riding, tree climbing and Jedi training.

My own wedding was fairly low key (dress was $97) and my mom did most of the planning. I’ve discovered that I hate party planning and should I ever find myself marrying again (unlikely, but my husband loves to predict his early demise :frowning: ) I would only agree to a foofy wedding if someone else did everything.

Maastricht, I love “Goddesses in Everywoman”, probably read it first when I was about 16. Of all the goddesses I identified least with Hera (probably most with Artemis), but was probably much more connected to her than I thought, since it never ever occurred to me that I wouldn’t marry, I was never without a boyfriend from the age of 15, I met my husband when I was 18 and married him at 24 and have now been with him more than half my life.

( Hey look! I made a wedding cake last year)
