Women more likely to be bisexual?

What I mean is, do Europeans* experience the same level of male-homophobia as Americans? I know that when I whenever I visit Holland the customary greeting is the kiss-on-each-cheek thing, regardless of sex. 'Course, this is for relatives, so that might be a limiting factor. The counter-example for this is that whenever I visit friends of mine here, a hearty-handshake is the norm. Maybe, maybe a hug if the person happened to be a really good friend, but even then, sometimes, there is that “are we actually going to hug?” hesitation.
(*****: to limit this to cultures I’ve experienced, as opposed to Oriental or Indian, say)

Why am I reminded of a “Kids in the Hall” sketch?

Two gossippy women in the office

“Oh he’s not gay!”
“What?”
“Oh, he explained it to me. Every so often he has sex with men to prove to himself that he doesn’t like it!”
