Maybe it’s because I’m from Chicago, I would never associate a description of something the size of a softball on someone’s face as anything but a huge tumor. Goatees are not spherical. Or look anything like a softball in size or shape or color. So for me, that entry was nonsensical.
“Ya know, hair. On your face-lip-chin area. The size of a smallish-large grapefruit. Icosidodecahedronoidal from most angles except from the inside. Y’know, that one?”
I have stubble five minutes after I shave. One of the many reasons I have a beard.

I agree that softball-sized made perfect sense to me as being a goatee, and I didn’t read in softball-shaped.
It was, however, the reason I posted the link to a list, as it was clear the OP was struggling with that one a bit.
