When I was on the pill, I always kept them in my bag, that way no matter where I was, there they were.
I got my tubes tied a few years ago, and didn’t use anything for a long time. Now I’m single again, so back to condoms. They mostly live in the goodie drawer, but I’m also back to keeping birth control in my bag, so no matter where I go, there they are.
But not especially flexible, in my experience. We do keep our fridge pretty cold, though. Still, I’m pretty much like you–I don’t generally have them warmed up much before popping them in the ol’ cooter.
I am totally incapable of remembering to take any pill every day - except my sleeping pill. If I don’t remember to take my sleeping pill, I damn sure will remember in 4 or 5 hours when I’m still awake. So, I leave my birth control wherever my sleeping pills are. At the moment, they’re on the coffee table because I’ve been sleeping in the living room. Usually though, they’re in the bedroom.
Wow. I can’t believe I’m the only one who kept her birth control pills right by the toothpaste. I would take the Pill right after I brushed my teeth in the morning. Now I take all my vitamins and blood pressure stuff right after I brush my teeth. Am I the only one here who brushes her teeth first thing every morning?
Actually, even though my birth control is a very low dose, it makes me quite queasy if I’m awake when I take it. So, I have to take it before bed. While I ALWAYS brush my teeth in the morning, I don’t always remember to brush before bed. If I brush early and take my pill but don’t go to bed right away, I get queasy and can’t sleep even with the sleeping pill.
I keep both methods in my purse. I take my pills in the afternoon and am not always home. The condoms stay in the purse in my ‘shack pack’ for when I stay at the boyfriend’s place (includes toothbrush, tiny toothpaste and deoderant).
I take so damn many pills, I use a pill sorter. So every Sunday I pop out seven pills and put them in the sorter with the rest of my drugs, which I keep next to my computer since that’s where I spend most of the day. The packet goes with the rest of my pill bottles in a basket on my kitchen table. Yes, if my husband thinks about it, he’ll hide the packet from his mom’s sight (at least he has in the past, I don’t think he’s thought about it in a while–she’s very anti-bc, but he finally told her we’re not going to have kids, period).
Mine’s in my makeup bag, which travels wherever I go, so they’re handy. The one I have trouble with is the damn prescription. Every three months I go to refill the prescription, every three months I think “NOW I know where I’ll put this piece of paper, I’ll never forget THIS place!” and every three months I go through the ritual of “Where did I leave it last time?”
