Perhaps the decline of women’s urinals is due in part to the confusion over how they are to be used. Cecil states (http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_255.html) that a women should “straddle while facing the wall.” The instructions posted near Texas A&M’s urinals state “back up to the HY-SAN” (brand name of urinal).
