Women's world cup 2019

Holy shit.

Still van Veenendaal:)

The US is really pushing now.

Didn’t see the Tour today; thx for the heads up!

Sorry for the spoiler.

US having most of the possession and all of the chances, but it’s still 0-0. Anything can happen.

Something always does.

Oh piss off!

The first time the VAR wakes up they’re fucking wrong.

Excellent call. That boot had no business being that high; in fact it was likely intentional. Dutch have been playing extremely dirty, and finally paid for it.

That’s a super easy penalty call. VAR got it right.

Morgan looks slow, killed two attacks in the last 2 minutes.

Shoot the ball Dutch forward that I can’t spell! Great opportunity there for the equalizer.

Didn’t see the call, but this official’s been letting them play for most of the first half that I saw. Calling fouls in the right spots when things were starting to get chippy. I’ve been impressed.

If she finally called for a penalty, I’m inclined to think it was deserved.

Well fuck me.

That’s a goal worthy of a World Cup Final.

Dagger.

Lavelle is a baller. She’s been great the entire tournament.

The US has been awful on the break. They probably would have scored 3 more if they were tidier without a handful of heavy touches and a little more foot speed.

eta Also, credit to the Dutch centerbacks, they’re playing the breaks well as they must to have any chance.

Congratulations to the US. They simply were better.

Dunn has been the player that has impressed me, attacking like she does from the left backer spot and utterly slamming doors shut on defense.

Great match.

I thought the foul was correctly called, but (despite the rules) it didn’t feel like an infraction fully worthy of a penalty shot. Outcome was more satisfying because that score didn’t make the difference.

US was clearly the better team: Dutch are game, but the difference in play today was greater than the score would indicate. Kudos to van Veenendaal, who probably deserved Player of the Match.
