He doesn’t have to serve any more time. Thank god he lives in CA. If it was any other state, he’d probably be behind bars for years. We love you Robby.
And we know it’s not your fault. It’s that ass who directed Putney Swope.

I’m glad to see that the “authorities”, whoever they are, are starting to see that sobriety is not a straight line. People DO fall off the wagon and just need to keep quitting.
Very few people get it the first time, and jail time does not help addicts stay clean.
I didn’t think he would be arraigned until Dec 27th how could he possibly be free? Link on that?
hmmmm… I’m not sure absoul. All I know is I saw it on the evening news, while I was posting, and they showed footage of him in court.
Now, either they were showing a rerun from a year ago, or else he was in court today. I’m guessing the later. Anyone else wanna do my work for me?
The authorities see that he is a star, and are treating him accordingly. A regular person would already have done serious time for what Downey has done.
No shit, probation violation is one of the things us ‘common criminals’ take very seriously, as it’s damn hard to get out of doing time for it. Seriously pisses me off that celebrities get preferential treatment like that. Take Whitney Houston (please!). She gets caught trying to bring pot on a plane, and instead of being immediately arrested they try to simply take it from her and let her go - right away she’s getting preferential treatment, but then she tries to fight them to keep the pot, and doesn’t even get arrested for it!

Hmmm…If I put this guy in the pokey, I’ll never get to see the “Ally accidentally gets pregnant” episode. Better let this one slide…
[end judge thought process]
No, I don’t agree with the drug laws in this wonderful country of ours, but I’m disturbed about how celebrities get preferential treatment in all such matters. Downey’s supposed to be demonstrating that he can keep his nose clean. Instead, he violates his probation. I think the judge should have thrown his ass in jail for at least six months, until all his physical addiction symptoms disappeared. If, after the six months, the guy goes back to drug abuse, then he obviously considers himself to be held to a different standard than the rest of us, and deserves to have the book thrown at him.
I wonder what would happen to me if I tried to pull what Whitney Houston pulled… Lessee, she got caught with a bunch of weed in her back, she walks away from the scene of the crime, and hops on a jet back to the mainland U.S. That’s some pretty serious stuff. They’d probably send me up the river for a couple months. And Whitney? Oh, don’t worry about it. She entertains the world, so she can do whatever she wants. Yes, even if she makes a professional career of putting out crappy music, acting like a spoiled child, and legitimizing Bobby Brown (who hasn’t put out a decent piece of music since the 80s.)
God, I hate celebs. Especially the useless ones like Downey and Whitney…
I take exception to you using my WOO! in the thread title.
