All I know is that someone called 911 to a spa resort he was staying at. There was no disturbance, don’t know why 911 was called. He was apparantly high, and a search of his room turned up a little meth and a little coke. He was busted. I don’t know anything else. I’m very sad.

It is sad. I always hate seeing people let themselves down like that. Here’s wishing him the best. But…(and there’s always a “but”) I am weary of his antics a little bit as well. He is in control of his future, and he is responsible for it. He needs to get his shit together, FINALLY. We are all being deprived of a marvelous talent because of this weakness he has.
He shouldn’t go to jail. He is a FAMOUS ACTOR, for Pete’s sake! You shouldn’t put a FAMOUS ACTOR in jail anymore than you should put an NFL STAR in jail. They’re just different, you know? Special!
Hearing of Robert Downey Jr. getting busted for drugs again reminds me of when I found out about Hulk Hogan using steroids. These events have just destroyed my image of these men completely!

I’m not sad about his drug use. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest. If he wants to smoke crack let him, hell, if anyone wants to smoke crack let em. Just upset that the jail time will interfere with his ability to make movies.
Not to turn this into a debate, Snooooopy (with 5 o’s), but I don’t believe in jail time for junkies. Bob ain’t shooting up old ladies or knocking over banks. He’s got a problem. And, like scratchie, I hate that we’re being deprived of a talent because no one will allow him to either A) Fuck himself up until he dies, or B) Get over it, or C) Moderate it.

All I really wanted to address (and mock) was the special treatment afforded actors and athletes and other such famous people when they break the law.
It’s sad that he has succumbed to his addiction again. And he has an immense talent, I will feel deprived of it when he is put in the pokey again, for however long he’s in this time.
But he knew what the consequences would be if he didn’t stay straight. Fair or not, he knew. Obviously getting high was more important to him than furthering his career, and acting. His choice.

I gotta agree here. I know a lot of people who have done time (in prison, not jail) for less. It seems the courts are bending over backwards and RDJ is trying to push them and see how far they go.
