The Beloved and I hit Montréal for the Grey Cup on November 23, and we’re staying in Quebec for a few days afterwards.
So, what should we see in Montréal, after the Grey Cup hang-over clears up?
(I know what matt will say - ride the Métro!)

You might want to check this thread then.
Have dinner at Weinstein and Gavino’s Italian restaurant. Trust me, great eats! It’s on Rue Crescent (Crescent Street), a couple doors down from the Hard Rock Cafe. I make trips to Montreal just for this place. They make most everything in-house, so it’s all fresh (usually same-day or even same-hour) and it’s very reasonably priced. Even if there’s a line, it’s worth the wait. Hope you have a great trip.
[sub]oh i wish i knew how to make accents appear on the boards; it hurts to look at the lonely e’s above[/sub]
Just ignore the bit about the Alouettes. What was I thinking?
Noooo! That’s the week I have to go to Winnipeg for the NDP General Convention! I knew all this politics would come to no good end.
Well. I don’t like football that much anyway. (/sour grapes)

so cool, matt!
Who you hoping gets in?
[sub]You may also want to check out Club Super Sex, but you didn’t hear that from me, okay?
detop - I’d forgotten about that previous thread. Thanks. I’ll print off both before we go.
eunonia - 's’alright - I was more confident about the Riders, with less reason
matt - way cool - how long did that take? Have fun in the Peg.
whatmove, D18 - thanks for the suggestions - I think I was in Schwartz’ many years ago.
I was hoping for the Riders :(, but guess I’ll have to go with Winnipeg now.
D18 is right about Biddles and music, Charlie Biddle is a Montreal staple. The jazz is sort of mainstream, post-bop but not too complicated. However, on the second point, I think their food sucks. I still reserve to eat when I go there, simply because I want to be sure to have a table. No bread on the dinner table. A very limited menu. Everything used to be tasty about 20 years ago, but I was disappointed the last few times.
I’m going to round up a few addresses of places I’d recommend that you see in Montreal and post them tomorrow.
