Woo-hoo! World Series, here I come!

That’s right! I got tickets to Game 1 Saturday afternoon! I’m pretty jazzed. I didn’t have to go downtown and stand in line for eight hours, nor pay scalpers’ rates. I managed to get them all by myself, online. Took three and a half hours, but… woo-hoo! I’m going to the Series!

:D:D:D

So are they really going to start Randy Johnson in Game 1? That’d be sweet! I’m envious.

Go D-backs! Boo Yankees!

I realize I’m assuming here, but come on, the Mariners are behind 3 to 1…

[sub]Not that I wouldn’t enjoy seeing the Yankees lose 3 in a row…[/sub]

I went to game 4 of the 1993 series in Philadelphia–the heartbreaker that Mitch Williams blew 15-14. It was cool though because I was 12 at the time and my mom asked me if I wanted to go when I got home from school. My friend’s dad had gotten tickets at the last minute. It was quite an experience.

Oh, and the week before I had gotten tickets at the last minute to see the Phillies and the Braves in the NLCS (I forget which game but the Phils lost and Fred McGriff hit a monster home run).

Whoo!! World Series!

::Doing the Tomahawk Chop and chanting::

OOOOOH, oh ohoooh. Ooooh oh ohoooh.

Wait. What? Oh.

Whoo, Diamondbacks!! Yay Diamondbacks! You go!

Congratulations on scoring those tickets, jadailey. I didn’t even know you liked baseball.

Oh, sorry, Strainger, forgot you liked the Braves. (Shouldn’t that have been “Oooooh NOOOO! Oooooh NOOOO!”? ;)) May I offer my deepest condolences in this time of pain. (Hey - my hometown team didn’t even make it to the LCS…)

Mmm. Baseball… Then going to the Winston Cup race Sunday! It’s gonna be a GOOD weekend!

I’m SUPER SUPER Jealous – Pea freakin’ GREEN with envy right now!

Mussina is more than likely going to pitching that game (I have a HUGE crush on him!) and you get to see him … IN PERSON. :: swooooons ::

Actually, I’m quite pleased to see the Diamondbacks going to the World Series. They are my home team, after all. Hell, I’ve been with them since the early days.

The great thing about the NL Championship series was that I couldn’t be disappointed. I had my hometown team playing against the team I grew up with.

Oh, the depression is coming soon. I’m the only one I know from Arizona that still lives here. I grew up with the attitude that with the exception of Wildcats basketball (they have some nantional championships) we always choke at the critical moment and somehow it will be my fault. I’ll watch the games but I’ll be dreading it.

Congrats you “long-suffering” Snakes fans. Enjoy and savor the experience. Just make sure you beat those damn Yankees, says a still-bitter Indians’ fan.

PatrickM, I, too, am an Indians fan. I know the pain that is Wahoo-mania. How sad is it that both Mauvaise and I saw our favorite teams knocked out in the first round - I was counting on getting together for an Oakland/Cleveland ALCS!

But, that’s over now, my adopted home town is in it, and I am SO there. Mr. jadailey wants me to sell my tickets (I guess scalpers are getting upwards of $1000 each, even for crappy seats), but that’s just not going to happen. I’m going to the game!

I think Schilling will be pitching. That’ll be good!

Padeye - it’s your fault we always lose? Dammit, son - don’t you ruin this for us!

Amen, Patrick. I am sick and tired of the Yankees winning. Some American League teams haven’t won the Series since World War I.
