Woohoo! We got Pluto!

Green Light for Pluto

The quote from the VA/HUD/Indie appropriations bill says this:

This bill still needs final passage in Congress and then the President needs to sign it, but things are looking good. I may get to see pictures of Pluto in my lifetime! That’s a wonderful thing.

I’ve heard it’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Actually, I think it would be fascinating to see photos of the furthest planet from the sun. Who knows what doors it may open?

Yes I would like us to actually send a probe to it and be able to say we sent a probe of one kind or another to every planet of our solar system then to de-planetize Pluto and say we sent a probe of one kind or another to every planet of our solar system.
GO PKB

Or we could take that thirty million bucks and give it to me. I would then spend as much as $1000.00 to hire one of these photoshop geeks hanging around the office to make really cool and convincing looking fake photos of Pluto, which I would then send back to NASA.

This would accomplish just about as much, and I certainly would be much better off.

Booyah!! More spiffy wallpaper for my computer! Yay!

Here ya go!

Heh. I betcha that Pluto is worth a dang sight more than a mere thirty mil.

Why are we worrying about Pluto when we still don’t have a effective orbital weapons platform to cut terrorists and nay-sayers in two with laser beams?

Nitpicking here, but actually Neptune is currently the planet farthest from the sun. Neptune and Pluto’s orbits overlap, so for a period of, I believe, 38 years, Neptune is farthest out there. Maybe for the next 10 years or so, yet.

Nitpicking here, but Pluto passed Neptune heading out in 1999
