Word for the sound of ice

I can’t remember if the word is for the sound of ice freezing (water freezing, I guess) or the sound of it cracking. But I think it was a word for the creaking sound it makes as it freezes.

It started with a “B” I think. That’s all I remember.

I stumbled on the word about 10-15 years ago, on the internet. I think a fisherman or something was using it in a YouTube video I was watching?

No idea why this ghost of a word haunts me.

Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?
