I am helping a friend with a word game.
We are stuck on a few.
It is two words and the answer of one word will have an anagram in it for the other. It won’t necessarily be a perfect fit.
Example:
Join & Applaud =
Clasp & Claps.
Woods & Guide =
Trees & Steer
Got it?
The ones we are stuck on are:
**Pays & Measurers **
( I keep coming up with Estimate for Measurer and Estate for Pays. We both feel it is very thin.)
Overrun & superlative
Machine gun & Hurriedly.( I have to check on the spelling of Hurriedly.)
I keep going back to Thompson Machine Gun = To Go.)
Help!
remits and timers
(I didn’t just do your homework for you, did I?)
Remits and timers… excellent.
No, it isn’t homework. It’s better. A friend is in a contest somewhere else on the web who has been in the lead since it started. At the end of the trivia/word contests, whomever is the leader wins money. Like $30. They have been excellent questions every week.
The guy that is doing this is recovering from a broken back and obviously cannot work. So it’s keeping him busy and I get a couple of calls each week from my friend as the two quizzes a week dead line approaches.
Y’know, we should really have some kind of “You have been invited to lurk at SDMB by X” thingie here. I think the broken back guy would be a good addition to the cafe society and I’ve never even been over to the forum where they are at. But he knows his movies and is a history teacher.
blah blah blah
Recants & Trances, maybe.
