word game: pitch a remake for Lifetime or Oxygen channels

Those chick-flick channels need titles with a feminine spin.
So let’s help them out. (No strict rules to this)

[The first three came from today’s The LA Times crossword]

Dustina Hoffman in “Little Big Woman”
Roberta Donat in “Goodbye Mrs. Chips”
Cindy Poitier in “To Ma’am With Love”

I’ll pitch these:
Marian Brando in “The Godmother”
Jane Fonda in “Twelve Angry Women”
Annette O’Toole in “Laura of Arabia”
Meredith Baxter in “Of Mice and Women”

I thought the formula was

  1. Get some has-been actor who USED to be an aspiring sex symbol on an old TV show as the villain.

  2. Have him stalk some middle-aged actress who USED to be a TV star as a kid or teenager.
So… Brian Kerwin stalking Valerie Bertinelli?

Wil Wheaton stalking Danielle Brisebois?

John Schneider stalking Missy Gold?

Adrian Zmed stalking Soleil Moon Frye?

astorian  Try to focus. I know you can do this. The “formula” for this word game is not about real TV, but following the lead of the examples:

  1. Take a movie with a title having a word denoting male gender
  2. Change the word to denote female gender
  3. Pick a female name for the star
  4. I suppose you could add the one line summary if that makes it more interesting
  5. Hilarity ensues, or at least a some time is killed while waiting for the next coffee break
  6. If I’m the only one who comes up with these then it may be a short thread but I will have had fun.

Mary Beth Hurt in “The Elephant Woman”

Shirley Jones in “No Country for Old Women” - The Partridge family finds a couple dead bodies, some dope, and is run out of Nashville

Drena De Niro in “Raging Cow” An emotionally self-destructive milkmaid’s journey through life
