Zeldar: I had to go back ten years (Awk!) and search for every thread in the Game Room in which I had posted. I found several good word games, but not the one I believe you’re looking for.
I remember it being started by It’s Not Rocket Surgery and titled the same, because his username was a corruption of two common phrases which was the whole idea of the thread. When I searched for that, it told me that was an invalid username. (?)
I tried to search for one post I remembered where I said, “You can’t fight fire with city hall,” but although I tried twice, the search freezed up both times.
I’ll post the other game URLs in a minute, my phone is ringing.

Excellent thread, but there must be at least one more of that type, because I think I posted several times in one. What I’m remembering is one where we spliced together multiple old saws and cliches into one meaningless jumble that was fun to read and giggle at. Does that even sound familiar to you, brujaja?
