Okay, that’s enough examples. What do all these words have in common? If you want to guess, pls. either use a spoiler box or come up with more additions to the list. I’ll be back later to see how y’all are doing with this.

No, it doesn’t help at all…I’m in the same boat as tanookie, every theory I have is invalidated by at least one of the words.

Anything to do with…
…the placement of vowels? I notice all words with an odd number of letters have a vowel in the center, and ones with even numbers have one to the left and/or right of center.

It’s all about making changes.
If you drop the last letter of each word and then add a k, you get a new word
