Word Quirks 1.0

Help, please. Your language is so confusing to me.

Manslaughter and Man’s laughter: same letters, different pronounciation.

Racecar spelled backwards is racecar.

Which is longer: an aeon or an epoch?

Why does the word ‘billion’ mean a bigger number in Britian than in America?

Why do you park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?

Overwhelmed is a word. Underwhelmed is a word. But I’ve never been whelmed.

When a clock is on the table, it’s still a clock. When a clock is on your wrist, it’s a watch. Why, then, when you look at your wrist to tell time, you cannot say, “Twelve O’ watch?”

Americans, crazy --!

I think you’re new here, so I’ll be kind.

Never ever ask the parkway question; you don’t want to know what happened to the last person who did…

And your other questions are pretty lame, too.
