I’m fairly new to Wordle too…I’ve played it a total of 29 times now, and my stats are as follows:

1 = 0
2 = 1 :slight_smile:
3 = 12
4 = 8
5 = 4
6 = 3
FAIL = 1 :frowning:

I’d say, once you get the hang of it, the average for most is 3-4 tries (I think?), though there’s always that one day when things go awry. :wink: I’ve made stupid mistakes a few times (one example, using a letter in the same spot twice when it already showed me it’s not there) and kicked myself afterwards, so paying attention is key.

Looks like we started Wordle about the same time - I’ve played 30 games. Good on you for getting that 2! Do you remember what word it was?

I gave it a try, too. I gave up after sixty-some guesses, and I’m glad I did. I never would have gotten it. It reminded me that I hate things like trying to guess what words a computer algorithm thinks are semantically related. I went down a path that got me within 17 of the answer, but synonyms of that closest word showed up as “cold.” And I never would have made the leap from the increasingly “close” path I was on to the actual answer.

I’m over 200 guesses and starting to get pissed. My closest guess is 998/1000 (plummet), I have 9 total over 900 and 27 in the top 1000.

Please just tell me the answer. I’ve been at this almost an hour and I have shit to do.

ETA: Found the give up button. Yeah, okay, I could have gotten that word I suppose, but I have learned that I hate this kind of game.
