LENDS - The purpose of this word was the possibility it’s one of the SHA_E words. L and D eliminate two of the words. If the S wasn’t in it, then it wouldn’t be one of those words.
SHAPE - Yes it is one of the words
MOVES - For a guaranteed 5, rather than maybe getting a 6.

A crazy lucky first guess (OK, “sequence of answers”) to avoid the trap and get it in 2. Of course I’m now superstitious because the last time I got a 2, I missed completely on the next day’s word.
