I already spaced my planned re-emphasizing spending 3 of my 10 letters on vowels. As soon as I got the feedback from the second guess I remembered. Doh! Leaving both A and E uncovered hurt.
Fortunately the 6 consonants (CRMPLTS) were on point, eliminating quite a bit. Once I found three possibilities (candy, cheek, cache) I went for the guess. Cache seemed less likely. 50/50 chance paid off.

The first three words netted me one letter, and its position. But it eliminated so many letters that there wasn’t much else it could likely be.

My first two words were rather disappointing, though it did tell me what wasn’t used. It took a lot longer than it should have to come up with my third guess…was pretty sure there were double letters in this one, and I was suspecting the E. I had both Weedy and Cheek written down and almost went with Cheek first, but there was a CH word a few days ago, so Weedy won out for my third guess. Should have listened to my first instinct, but I’ll take the four.

THEIR → Only so many first letters with H second… and then I stopped thinking for a second…
SHEAF → WHAT WAS I THINKING? Already eliminated S & A. I deserve to lose this one. Should have tried…
CHEWY → A trap, but I’ve already wasted one guess… must be a repeated letter there somewhere
CHECK → Oh, OK. I’m going to survive…
