Mine is very similar to the previous one, including the same last three words.

This one was not easy for me.

This one had me stumped for a bit. Then, inspired, I thought “this can’t be a word, can it?” for my 4th guess.

I feel fortunate to come away with a four on this one. After I’d used all the vowels I figured there was a terminal Y, but all I could see were GABBY and GASSY, and I didn’t like either of those. So I stared a while longer until I found GAWKY. I still had very little confidence when I typed it in.
Some days I like to just plow ahead; I’m glad I chose to be more deliberate today.

This was me, too. But I liked how many letters it tested, so I thought, “Whutthehell.”
#375 5/6 and happy to escape with that!
I’m in the ‘same last 3 words’ club with Bullitt and Author_Balk, though each of us started from different beginning words.

SLANT

BROIL
DROLL
After 2 guesses, the only words I could come up with were BROIL and DROLL. I leaned towards the latter due to Wardle’s tendency to use words that see more use on that side of the pond, but OTOH I wasn’t sure I’d covered all the bases, and wanted the letter I to be either in or out in order to narrow the field for my 4th guess. So I went with BROIL first. Such is life.
Tomorrow’s wasn’t anywhere near as hard, but still took a few guesses.

BALMY

I’m not happy about this but after BALMY I could see way too many options with _ A _ _ Y. So I cheated to the extent of getting the hints ‘no duplicate letters, just one non-Y vowel.’ After that it was a matter of looking at the non-eliminated consonants and grinding out the possibilities.
Not proud, but I was in a time crunch and decided not to lose my streak.

How do you get hints? Erm, asking for a friend.
Tomorrow’s Wordle, Today
I thought that NYT would have eliminated this word.

It was 50/50 after 3. At least it was better than the last two days.
I just input “Wordle” into search (I usually use Google) and among the first-page results will be sites such as Tom’s or Forbes or other name-brand, tech-oriented choices. The one I looked at was Tom’s and it has lots of space between the intro, then the first hint (in this case about number of vowels and no double-letters), and then a second hint that’s more about the definition or meaning of the word.
Then presumably as you keep scrolling down you get more hints and eventually the actual answer. So you can control how much you see, at least on the Tom’s site. Don’t know about the others.
(Obviously a lot of people must access these sites, or there wouldn’t be so many near the top of the “Wordle” search results!)

HUTCH
Happy with the 4 because it could have gotten ugly with the _ITCH (B?DHPW) trap, which I saw and had only checked P. I didn’t even notice the _UTCH words.
After briefly considering breaking hard mode rules I decided to just go for it with the first one I had seen, which was hitch.

Has anyone tried the “tricks” to get your stats back? I tried using the Dev Tools to edit mine and it takes the editing and shows what it’s supposed to show, but they won’t transfer properly to the site like they are supposed to.
It used to work for people, but it’s either something in Chrome blocking the process, or something that NYT configured to keep people from being able to edit their stats, but who cares if they do? Most just want to get their stats back when they lose them versus cheat to show people how “great” they are. I probably care about this more than I should, but I just really want my stats back.
