SLANG → Hmm. Wordle hates plurals, so ?LAS? is likely. Can’t think of a BLAS? word (not BLAST or BLASE). FLASH maybe. or CLASH, or…

C’mon Wordle…four days in a row of double letters? At this point, I know they are just trying to mess with us.
My start word was great…three greens. But then I had another long list of words it could be. I decided to go with the CL words since there were three of them, and good choice, but now was left with choosing between two words again, and again choosing wrong. I was actually happy to get it in 4 though, considering how many possible words there were after my start word.
@EllisDee, that is a good idea to use an anagram solver for next time I need a sleuth word! I usually try to use my own brain power, but it doesn’t always cooperate.

I don’t know what a toran is. I tried all permutations of amrot but there doesn’t appear to be a word there. So I switched M for N, and the very first attempt hit.
I think by any measure that technique is fair play – brute forcing the five letters you want until you stumble onto a valid guess – but I’m starting to wonder if there’s any functional difference between that and just using an anagram solver.
