Eh, I probably could have cut this down to four with a test word at three. I did want to verify that terminal Y though, and from there it was just a coin flip. Another “good” five, I suppose, as I was never worried about a fail.
Looks like it’s a 4 kind of day.

WONKY
SOGGY
I actually had SOGGY in mind before WONKY, but I just can’t resist trying more letters before trying doubles. Costs me quite often.
BRISK → Subpar start, but I’ll go with it…
STALE → Could have also been STEAL, with the same outcome. Try an O?
SHOWN → Got it. But I’m feeling a little under the gun. Two more vowels, can I cover them both?
SOUPY → Not many consonants left. SONNY is out, and I can’t think of anything with another S, so…
SOGGY
An all-adjective set of guesses.

As Rufus said, ‘what letters are left?’ And for me, also, ‘what S words are left other than the 60 (I believe) that have already been winners?’
Alas, it wasn’t another 2, but I’ll take my usual average of 4.

Ugh…made a mistake with my 3rd word (the N wasn’t valid), and I had Soupy in the queue to try next, so I could have had this in 4.

CRAMP
STREP
USURP
This was a really satisfying 3. I didn’t see anything with a vowel in the fourth position (meaning it would have to start with an R), and also R__SP didn’t look promising either. That left _S_RP, leading to what looks to me like the only possible solution. Quick and definitive.

I thought of going with USURY on the third guess, which obviously would have been close but no cigar. Decided to play it safe instead. Would have been a 4 either way.

I was really hoping it would’ve been “usury” so I could pat myself on the back for guessing such an obscure word. Unfortunately, upon checking the source code, “usury” will never be the correct answer between now and when the current list of valid answers runs out in 2027.

My only excuse for re-using R in a known wrong position is I was at the time having to stand on a bus.

Once I’ve already done a given day’s Wordle, I assume that it’s safe to click on spoilers, since I already know that day’s answer. But in this case, it wasn’t really safe, because this spoiler contained information about future Wordle solutions.
Would it be too much to ask to provide a warning that the spoiler contains info about future Wordles, like I’ve done above? Thanks.

STRIP - Wordlebot says I got very lucky with this guess because it only left two words to choose from
GRASP - And I picked the incorrect one
USURP - Although I don’t understand why “usury” couldn’t also be correct

I feel pretty good about this three. After my second word, there were only USURP and USURY, but I saw them both right away, and jumped on the more likely one. As somebody here likes to say, coffee’s still hot.
