I haven’t been participating here for a while, but when I got this one I was curious how people did. I could not think of any other word for my third try, but for some reason I was thinking this word was too obscure. I think it may be because I know it as a more common word in a foreign language.
Anyway, my tries were:

Tough slog today. “RILEY” turns out to be something more than a name (with meaning of ‘angry’ or ‘roiled’); I wanted to try Y as the last letter and test I as a second vowel, so found it. Today’s answer is surely a borrow-word, but then we do get those with Wordle occasionally.

Like eschrodinger I wasn’t sure if this was a possible choice, since it brought me right back to high school German class, until I thought of the other meaning, as in someone delivering their spiel. It was the only answer I could see; still, I held my breath as the tiles turned green
Not sure I should share, but I have used the second word multiple times and it really came in handy today.

I didn’t get it. I think mummy was a cheap answer, when I had no indication that M was used 3 fricking times! My last three answers were mucky/muddy/muggy, and I think the winning word was a cheap shot.

I immediately thought Q when the U fell into the second spot. Then I realized, I’ve eliminated all the other vowels!
Maybe I should have gone with the terminal Y one sooner, but PUNCH knocked out four more consonants so it was helpful. Still, when 60% of the answer is the same letter - sheesh.
And I had GUMMY and YUMMY still left, so in the end I had a 1 in 3 chance of losing my streak. It wasn’t a six, but I’m still going to say, “Phew!”
