Happy with a four here as well.
None of the common consonants were hitting, so I figured a double letter must be in play.
According to Scoredle, there were 37 words left. Only about 10 of those were likely Wordle answers, but still a good bit of luck on my side.
FAULT → Only the F hit? OK…
FRIES → I & E are out, so O & Y are the only vowels left. I may have a chance to finish this, since I’ve already eliminated L & R so it must be FO- to start. FOODY seems a little too slangy (and is usually spelled with -IE). FONDO? Naw. FO??Y gives one possibility…

Placing the F early and running out of vowels saved me on this one.
I’m more of a consonant guy, but focusing on vowels does have the advantage that you can go through them faster. Took me three turns rather than two to get through most of the consonants. 
If I’d thought of it I’d have thought it was a vaguely-British term meaning “mother.” (It had been used that way for a character in the 1967 film Thoroughly Modern Millie.) But there we are: learn something new every day.

Well, this was a surprise. After my 3rd word, I figured this had to be a double-letter word, and probably ending in Y, but was it double O or double letters after the O? I usually like to make a list of all of the options that I can think of, but Foggy immediately popped into my head and I just decided to go for it, and lo’ and behold…all greens!
