I’m too in my head these days. After MILKY, I listed all of the _I__Y words I could come up with. I decided FISHY was the best option to eliminate the most words. But then, even though my list contained no R’s at all, I figured I’d better check for an R in case I missed something. Turns out I didn’t miss anything, there were no possible R words, and I talked myself into a higher score again.

Agree with @RTFirefly. Entirely too much reliance on the letter ‘Y’ lately.
I was nonetheless surprised when my fourth try turned out to be the word. I was still just testing letters and placement. Figured it was a 5 Day for me.

SIGHT was to try an S-start word that would test I or U. Turned out to be extremely lucky. S was highly unlikely to end a word with H in fourth position, so I now (probably) had _ISH_. DISHY seemed slightly less likely to me than FISHY.

I didn’t think FISHY was likely, was just looking for any word with an I, a Y and S, and any letters that hadn’t been used yet, but WordleBot said that after LEAST and SCOUR, the only words left were WISPY and FISHY

October was a doozy for terminal Y’s (7 of them in total), and August was a close second with 6 of them, as well as in October there also were three words that started with an F in a row, so it happens, I’d just rather it not.

I saw crave first, but also saw craze, crane, crone, crime and cruel. First up was previous answers which eliminated craze. Then I was going to try to come up with a research word ignoring hard mode rules when I realized crane would do the job.
