Ugh. I gotta start paying more attention. I skimmed through the keyboard and thought I had every possibility covered within six. Totally missed the G.
This is my second fail in 21 days, after a 358-day winning streak. Whatever mojo I had for this game, I don’t have it any more.
FLAIL → Kind of a meh start. Hard to say if I need vowels or consonants more, I guess I’ll focus on consonants, given that A may be the sole vowel…
ROAST* → ?SAT? gives little help, so STA?? is likely. Perhaps with a terminal E?
STAKE → Could be STAGE or STAVE… I’ll try the former.
