The frequency among 5-letter words is apparently slightly different from their frequencies across the English language. For the Wordle solutions so far, the top 10, from #1 to #10, are: EAROTLISNC.
Scordle listed 12, but they show all the ridiculously obscure words that would never possibly be answers. I’m guessing the two that WordleBot recognized were GENRE and LUCRE.
Knowing after guess 1 that I had “_ _ E R _”, a slog through the alphabet for that fifth-position letter, A onward, stopped at E with what I thought would at least narrow things down. Very lucky.
After 3 I saw revel first, but then kept looking and decided that rebel was more common so went with that. I should know better; with a toss-up, always go with the first thing seen. Not because it’s more likely to be correct, but because it’s more annoying when you second-guess yourself into the wrong answer.
I had to go through my three srandard guess words (15 unique letters) and still only had two letters. At least FEWER gave me the two green E’s, and LEVER was eliminated.
Another REBEL REVEL. I find the overuse of similar words and doubles disappointing. That’s 4 words with RE or REE in a row. I wish they would go back to the random line up.
