Same here. Having a double double will always make it difficult.

I dunno what I was doing with the second word. For some reason I mentally mixed up green and yellow.
Anyway:
AIERY
SLICK
PINTO
VIVID
Got it in 5!
Wordle 251 5/6
Woo-hoo!
Bullitt is the champion! (From the old movie, “Juggernaut” [1974], where the bomb EOD expert would sing, ‘Fallon is the champion’ when he disarmed a bomb).
Knowing these were the only letters left,
D F B Z V X J Q
I tried playing with these words in a notepad
fazed blaze vixen dizzy vexed jizzy dazed
ibids ibid
ibidi bizzy bizzi fizzy fizzi dizzy
vivid
Once I wrote down that last word I was hoping it’d be correct. I was nervous at first but once the first letter revealed itself as green my nervousness eased.
Whew!
Tomorrow’s:
Wordle 252 5/6
Couldn’t think of any other possibilities by the time I got to the third guess:
Wordle 251 3/6
TRADE
CLOUD
VIVID
BLOKE → OK, at least I knocked those letters out…
STRIP → And those. What can I make from what’s left?
MANIC → Really not much left. Not FLUID - do I have 2 Is? Not RIGID either
VIVID
More skull sweat, but there were so few letters left by the time I was done…
Wordle 251 6/6
COURT
MEANS – WTF?!
IMPLY – usually i start to guess on three, but decided to hunt for letters
WHISK – i hoped this might be the word
FUDGE – i knew this wasn’t, but had no clue and wanted more letters. No luck. Then i played with Scrabble tiles.
VIVID
Wordle 251 4/6*
Ought
Slake
Privy
Vivid
Very stupid (basic strategy-wise)l and very lucky starting word. Could have had it in 2, but guessed wrong:
To be honest, though, I picked the unlikely starting word based on the results posted so far:
Wordle 251 3/6
CIVIC
LIVID
VIVID
I figured with all the blank results I was seeing, we’re not looking at an RSTLNE puzzle, and probably involves double letters, as that gives folks a lot of grief. And I initially guessed two sets of double letters – which actually was right – in the hopes of an ace, but I did see the middle three letters fall. So then, rather than go with my initial intuition, I went for LIVID over VIVID. Turns out I should have stuck with my initial ideas of what the solution might look like.
Damn this one was tough!
Wordle 251 5/6
CHAMP
STORE
BLINK
FIGGY
VIVID
After the fourth guess I was wondering if there actually was a word that fit or of it was a mistake! I only had Q, W, U, V, D, J, Z and X left!
Just so you know, whatever picture that is it’s not Wordle. At least not the one we are all talking about in this thread. It’s not an app. It’s on The NY Times website:
Wordle 251 5/6
HEART
BOILS
MINUS
PICKY
VIVID
Down at the end there weren’t many consonants available so it wasn’t that hard to guess.
Wordle 251 5/6*
TRAIN
TEPID
OVOID
LIVID
VIVID
Thought I had it in 4.
WEIRD
VIVID
Got really lucky today.
Knowing it ended with a D, contained an I(s), and the E was out of play I couldn’t come up with any words that contained another vowel that fit those parameters.
I was going to try VIVID just to narrow down the location of the I(s) and got it by accident.

Wordle 251 4/6
TRAIN
LUCID
OVOID
VIVID
Got a bit lucky with the second guess giving me the D. I thought I might be shooting myself in the foot with OVOID, because two O’s and an uncommon letter could potentially be of little to no help. But it worked out! Not sure I’ve ever seen a double double before.
Of course, that still wouldn’t prove anything:

(No, I didn’t get it in one.)
