POLYP
Took a minute to see polyp, but not all that long. I then kept searching, took a break, resumed searching, took a break, lather, rinse, repeat multiple times in a desperate attempt to find any other potential answer word. Never could find anything, so I was forced into the answer against my will.
This got me curious so I went to check the original answer list. Polyp does indeed appear on it, surprisingly enough.

OUNCE
BROIL
LOATH
FOLLY
POLYP
Quite the slog today. I’m definitely not crazy about this word. Nuff said.
OUNCE jumps from 3.82 to 3.92.
I’ll wipe my brow and be satisfied with a par today.

POLYP
Weird word. Not my favorite.
ANODE → Slow start, but at least I’ve KOed a pair of vowels. Try an I next time
HOIST → Nope, and no consonants, either. Two Os, maybe?
ROOMY → Nope, but I have a Y - and not a terminal Y. Haven’t used an L yet, but it can’t be LOLLY. Can’t see a word with a U that fits. If Y is in 4th, it might be
POLYP
That reminds me, I’ve got to make an appointment for my colonoscopy.

WordleBot rated my 3rd guess, POULT, as 60/100, which I find hard to understand since it eliminated every other option
And maybe I’m so far into old person mode that POLYP doesn’t strike me as an odd word. Several times this year I’ve noted that more and more, my conversations and those of people around me focus on our ailments, medical procedures, colonoscopies. polyps etc.

Probably would have been smarter to go with a test word on 5 but I would still end up with 6.

CHIMP — after this I only had 2 yellows; I found this puzzle very difficult because the only other possible letters were YGBKFWVZXJQ; and going through all the possibilities was tedious but in the end out of all of those 11 possible letters the solution had to include the B and the K, and there was only one word it could likely be, which was…
BROOK — this one was a tedious PITA

BROOK - Same trap as most others got caught in.
POLYP → Like I expected more than one letter? I was really hoping for POPPY
SNORT → Placed the O. R likely in second. Feels weird to try a double letter here, but there’s only so much that can go after that O
GROOM → A bit traplike, but a lot that can go before that R is already out
BROOD → So it must be
BROOK
I almost went DROID on the third guess - as long as I still tried GROOM with the fourth, I would have ended up with a 5.

BROOK
Thought I had a two for a second; ended up with a five. That’s Wordle!
BROWN was the only possible answer at three! That is, if you completely missed the possibility of a double O.
ORATE (just like OUNCE yesterday) goes from 3.82 to 3.92.
