Not with this bunch of pedants! I’m sorry. I’ll have you know that I scoured my post for a long time looking for errors. Gaudere’s law is always out to get you!
Wordle 799 3/6
ARISE
LANCE
PEACE
The second word was the key. I wanted common consonants, but there was nothing with L, N, T, and A with an E at the end. I figured C was a decent second-tier option, and it hit.
Finally got to my historically best starting word, ARISE, and managed to improve it even more, from 3.36 to 3.33.

PLANT
PRASE
PEACE
Just trying to check SER and PRASE got accepted. Best I can tell it’s a type of greenish quartz.
Wordle 799 3/6
STORE
PLACE
PEACE
Well that was a fortuitous 2nd guess word. I wanted to keep that green E in place, and I was just checking more commons as usual, but I didn’t expect to end up with 4 greens - I’ll gladly take it!
Good advice!
Thanks @SeaSun and @RTFirefly! PRION and MINORare now on my list!

STEAL
REACH
PEACE
A lucky 2nd guess with REACH, which eliminated everything but PEACE
And we’ve had BEGET, BELIE, BESET and AMISS, which makes me think that APACE is not unlikely

Wordle 800 4/6* 8/28/2023
PEACE → Thought for a second I had struck out completely. OK, comcons and one vowel
STORE → Two hits, unplaced. They’d go well together at the front - but then what? TRITE? Don’t want a repeat just yet. Guess I’ll skip more comcons and try a second tier letter
TRIBE → Only thing left is
WRITE
Didn’t even see BRUTE on the third guess, but would have still preferred the vowel I did guess.
Heh.

Had to choose between TRIBE, TRIPE, BRUTE, WRITE, and possibly RETIE and TRIKE on the 3rd guess. WRITE seemed somewhat more likely than the others, but if I’d been wrong, I’d have been unable to tell apart the TRI_E words. So I went with TRIBE where the worst case was a 4.
